Abstract
The exhibit, “Greeks on the Road to World War I,” was held in the Library Gallery on the California State University, Sacramento campus between April 1-26th. It memorialized the 100th anniversary of WWI and presented the history of Greece’s involvement in the war, from the turn of the twentieth century to the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. The exhibit also included several sections on Greek Americans and their contribution to the war effort. The author conducted research on the topic, designed the exhibit layout, and acquired items for the exhibit. The exhibit had a staff that included several CSU, Sacramento students and alumni who volunteered to work on many tasks throughout the planning process and set up. The exhibit resulted in nearly 2,000 visitors including several school groups come to the gallery for tours. The exhibit also had a lecture series that had very good attendance from the local community. Overall, many visitors showed genuine interest in the exhibit’s subject matter and wanted to know more.
