Abstract
Statement of Problem
The objective of this project is to build the foundation for an emerging technology that involves the processing of wastewater using algae as the main processor as opposed to historical methods of treatment. This processing of wastewater using algae is not only beneficial to the environment, but makes financial business sense, as I will demonstrate within this body of work. Our society is trending towards a greener future and this project, while not the ultimate solution, is a great addition to a more environmentally friendly society. I studied several models as well as applied an Actor Network Theory model to the business model in the hopes of creating the foundation on which we will launch our
business after proving the technology in a pilot plant. While my analysis has not arrived at a conclusion as to the viability of the business model, I have concluded that once the technology has been proven to work on a small pilot project, I will have the tools necessary to capitalize on the opportunity.
