A qualitative content analysis design was used to explore mental health workers’ experience from working in a crisis residential program. Mental health workers were gathered from Marin and Sacramento counties using a snowball sampling method. Interviews were conducted with ten mental health workers in crisis residential programs. The main themes arising from this study were training, previous experience, burnout and job satisfaction. The results of these findings and the implications for social work practice and policies are discussed.
