Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore students’ perception before COVID-19 while comparing them to post- COVID-19 experience of online learning including their preferred learning method. The sampling method for this research came from a convenience sampling. All variables analyzed in the report were quantitative data gathered from a secondary survey, utilizing a list of social work schools by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE). Five primary themes emerged from this study. The first three themes will differentiate and explore students learning experience with previous reports of pre-COVID-19 as well as students learning experience Under COVID-19. The fourth theme will identify the satisfaction rates in Remote learning while the fifth theme will provide some of the best practices for remote learning during a pandemic. As a result of classes being switched to online delivery a majority of students reported learning less. However, a significant number of students did prefer online delivery. In supporting students, institutions must ensure students have access to proper network stabilization, encourage more student efforts, and improve communication between professors and the students. Institutions should offer proper training to staff ensuring that all members can effectively handle any issues that may arise during virtual online classes. Prompt student support should be available to every student as many will continue to adapt to the new online teaching methods. Several recommendations can be made in the following areas: economic constraints, standard procedures of conducting online classes, and limitations of online learning program which will be discussed.
