Abstract
Statement of problem: The problem was to design and produce a slide/sound show that would be available to schools for classes to use basically as a: 1) pre-tour preparation; 2) post-tour follow-up; and/or 3) informational tool for instruction on California government. Sources of data: Design decisions were consistent with the Marsh "Complexity Model" of message design. Program script content was derived from many hours of research of old newspaper articles and other publications pertaining to California history and government and the Capitol restoration project. Conclusions reached: A slide/sound presentation for junior high school students accompanied by a Teacher's guide if feasible. The title of the program is "Exploring California's State Capitol: From Birth to Rebirth." A copy of the program is housed on the fifth floor of the California State University, Sacramento Library.
