Abstract
The purpose of this research study is to examine differences in institutional integration among two first year Latinx groups at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) that include students enrolled in the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) versus non-CAMP students. The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of CAMP and to explore whether CAMP may facilitate institutional integration among this population. A total of 29 CAMP and 35 non-CAMP students completed the questionnaire survey. Data analysis included descriptive statistics and inferential tests of correlations and differences. Major findings revealed that there are statistically marginal differences among these two groups of students and their institutional integration. Future research should examine related variables including social integration and institutional and goal commitment to broaden the body of literature on first year Latinx students.
