Abstract
Ethnic Studies will be a graduation requirement for students within the next decade, but it is not required at the elementary level. There is a need to prepare students at the elementary level for Ethnic Studies, as well as research that supports the impact Ethnic Studies has had at the elementary level. This project was written with a diverse classroom in the Sacramento area in mind but can easily be adapted to fit the needs of any classroom. The project is intended to offer teachers ideas on how to engage students in culturally relevant pedagogy.
