Abstract
Employee volunteering is one of the recent trends where an increasing number of employees contribute their time and skill towards volunteering activities of their own choice or some designated activities assigned by the organization. It helps fulfill the organization’s social responsibility towards its community and environment and helps retain talented employees by enhancing their level of satisfaction. This type of volunteering is good for motivating the employees and is good for enhancing the organization’s reputation. This research project focused on reviewing the motives behind employee volunteering behavior and is conducted among employees of technology and nonprofit sectors. A survey method is used as methodology to do the research. The research showed that employee volunteering seems to have positive effects on attitudes and behavior of employees towards themselves and the organization.
