Abstract
This study explored the effects of occupational stress on the burnout rates of social worker employees at the Sacramento Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic. Participants consisted of employees at the clinic that provide direct services to clients that serves the NASW code of ethics, a total of 25 employees participated in the survey administered by the researcher. The findings revealed that participants report challenges in large workload/work responsibility, being understaffed, inability to complete work all work assignments in a timely manner and feeling exhausted. More research will be needed on what other challenges social workers experience due to burnout and how to best provide support for this population.
