Abstract
The EWED project at Sacramento state has built an EPA Data Integration system to assimilate the information related to power plants across US by using data services and interfaces provided by the EPA – Environmental Protection Agency. However, the existing project has data consistency issues and is not complete for all types of data sources. It collects information related to facility, electricity generation, emissions, and water usage. Since they are collected from different sources managed by different agencies, the data collected is not consistent with each other. This project overcomes these inconsistency issues of the data stored and implements a strategy for semi-automatic updates of the integration system to react to the updates of information in heterogeneous data sources. This project added a new functionality to integrate water availability information for future analysis in the context of water, energy, and emission. In addition, this project presents the complete information related to facility to keep track of natural resources used and pollution related to power generation.
