Abstract
Criminal Justice is a vastly expanding field of study that has found prominence in the majority of America’s schools of higher learning since its beginning in 1916. Although it has generally been accepted as an interdisciplinary field of study in recent years, it has focused primarily on the social sciences. However, one discipline that has not been readily accepted into criminal justice education is literature. There are currently no existing programs that teach criminal justice concepts through literature. Using examples found in many law schools and other disciplines, this curriculum teaches criminal justice concepts through major works of literature to encourage students to reexamine various aspects of the criminal justice system.
