Abstract
Imagery is a commonly used mental training skill in sport psychology, and has been used for years by athletes of varying sports for the purpose of optimizing performance. Imagery can be used to help performance, to practice strategies, set goals, increase confidence and motivation, and control levels of arousal. While it can be widely used in different sport settings, the access to training imagery for sport is dictated upon finding an experienced sport psychology practitioner to teach imagery use. Using a personalized system of instruction, it is possible to minimize the need for the practitioner in developing and imagery training program. The goal of this project was to create a personalized system of instruction for teaching imagery to enhance sport psychology skills with the purpose of optimizing athletic performance.
