Abstract
The research project examined the factors associated with one’s positive attitude toward CP. Convenience sampling was used to recruit 86 research participants. The exploratory design was selected as most appropriate due to the limited number of recent studies analyzing the factors associated with positive attitudes towards the use of sub-abusive CP on a culturally diverse population. The findings indicate that 81.4% of the participants experience a form of CP as minors. There was no direct association between past experiences with CP and the participant's current attitudes; however, 38.6% of the participants reported they currently use or will utilize CP. Moreover, 37.3% of the participants agreed that the MSW program had impacted their views on CP. This study aims to spread awareness to social workers working with families whose own biases could affect the families they serve.
