Abstract
This study focuses on the study of RF hyperthermia heating as a cancer treatment in feline and canine veterinary patients. The RF heating will be delivered by the Mettler 27 MHz unit that has been well tested in our laboratory and is consistent with FDA requirements for the delivery of hyperthermia. The patients will be primarily from veterinary clinics in and around the Sacramento Valley region, including the Bay Area region in California. Studies will include tumor response when hyperthermia is administered for 30-45 minutes, once a week for 4-6 weeks, including full response (tumor absent after treatment), partial response (tumor partially absent after treatment), and no response (tumor stable after treatment)—clearances obtained from Sacramento State ORIED, before the onset of clinical therapy.
