Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the long-term effects on women in adulthood who have experienced Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA) or Childhood Physical Abuse (CPA). The author focused on 3 areas in adulthood: Mental health, physical health, and intimate personal relationships. The researcher utilized secondary data from the Health and Relationship Project, which was conducted by Debra Umberson in 2015. A total of 838 participants completed a web-based questionnaire that consisted of 143 questions and assessed demographics, mental health, physical health, and intimate partner relationships. All responses were measured at the nominal and ordinal level (Likert Scale). The author extracted the responses from women only.
