Abstract
Statement of the Problem
This project demonstrates the viability and advantages of integrating VoiceXML into an enterprise-level, web-based application over using traditional, proprietary interactive voice response (IVR) systems.
Sources of Data
The sources of data used for this document include internet-based sources such as web articles, web forums, and official websites, as well as empirical data gathered through testing.
Conclusions Reached
VoiceXML, an open source scripting language for IVR development, is a viable and advantageous alternative to traditional, proprietary IVR systems. These advantages include current benefits such as standardization, increased flexibility, and a greater ease of integration with web infrastructures, as well as future benefits included in the next release of VoiceXML.
