Abstract
High speed PCBs are very important in today's timing analysis. Transmission lines timing has become a major concern in timing analysis. Transmission lines no longer modeled as lumped parameters , a lot of care is taken in the design of electrical characteristics of transmission lines. Generally there are two types of transmission lines, microstrip and stripline. Microstrip has one reference plane and stripline has two reference planes. There are many discontinuities in a stripline. The objective of this project is to analyze discontinuities involved in striplines and coding the discontinuities in MATLAB. Analyzing the discontinuities can be achieved by modeling the equivalent circuit for each discontinuity and finding their parameters. The simulation tools used to model different discontinuities in stripline are PSPICE and ADS.
