Abstract
The continuing professional nurse shortage, expanding health facilities, and a rapidly increasing population in the State of California were all contributing factors toward the initiation of a legislative act for the licensure of the Vocational Nurse.It was the purpose of this study to (1) to analyze accredited programs of practical nurse education on a nationwide scale, and (2) to develop an integrated source from which guidance might be derived for the development of a practical nurse education.
