Abstract
The percentage of young adults, baby boomers, and seniors who take part in traditional camping in California has declined in the past 10 years, California State Parks wants to identify ways to encourage them to participate more by offering alternative camping facilities. To find out the demographics of visitors an online survey was administered to 3,482 California State Park visitors who had stayed in one or more alternative camping facilities. The recommendations from this study were to keep park fees comparable to the visitors experience, advertise more on the parks website, require chairs at all new and existing facilities and finally provide more facilities to rent.
