Abstract
In this study, the author researched the Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, California, and its faith-based mentoring program. The study focused on the impact the faith-based mentoring program has had in the community. Through interviews with the Deacon and Youth Minister of the church, the researcher was able to gain knowledge on how the mentoring program originated and its continued success in the community. Interviews with African American male youth participating in the Annual Boys and Young Men's Conference provided insight into the positive influence the faith-based program has had on their lives.
