Abstract
This investigation of yearbook production methods in California public junior colleges was undertaken in an effort to provide administrators and sponsors with information regarding current practices and costs. That it might aid those schools which presently publish yearbooks and, perhaps, encourage other institutions to enter the field by pointing out the most efficient and economical methods in use was the aim of the study. The investigation was limited to yearbook production practices and costs relating to publication, without reference to sources of revenue, which is the subject of a separate study, undertaken simultaneously, by Mr. Harry Harvey, a graduate student in business administration at Sacramento State College and a faculty member at the American River Junior College, Del Paso Heights, California. Specifically, this study concerns itself with such items as cost, size, distribution, printing methods, coverage, photography sources, academic position and compensation of advisors, academic credit and working time of staffs, and staff selection methods.
