Abstract
This is a study of the errors made on the 1952 National Business Entrance Tests in shorthand to determine if a pattern of errors exists. The analysis may aid in isolating critical areas in teaching and learning shorthand-transcription and consequently improve the instruction in shorthand-transcription. The problem breaks itself into five major phases: (1) setting up a chart listing the errors (2) analyzing the transcripts for errors (3) determining the frequency of the errors (4) tracing the patterns of errors and (5) interpreting the results.
