Abstract
It was the purpose of this project to survey activities and resources of selected youth agencies in Sacramento, California, that could be utilized in organizing orientation experiences for teaching candidates enrolled at Sacramento State College. In order to achieve the purpose of this project it was necessary to: (1) study and analyze information on observation and participation programs for prospective teachers through educational research., (2) develop criteria for a college program, (3) send a questionnaire to all youth agencies in the Sacramento area to determine their suitability for selection for study, (4) apply the criteria to the questionnaire data and select a number of the best qualified agencies for intensive study, and (5) make examination of the program of these selected agencies and analyze their activities in terms of the criteria for building a college program of observation and participation at Sacramento State College.
