Abstract
As Teacher-Coordinator of Parent Education for the Sacramento City Unified School District, the writer organizes and teaches classes in parent education and is also responsible for the improvement and expansion of this program. Most classes are established in cooperation with local Parent-Teacher Association units. The questions "Why parent education? How can we reach more parents? How can we reach the parents who need it most?" are frequently asked by persons both inside and outside the program. Consideration of these questions has led to the conclusion that a greater effort should be made to reach more homes with parent education programs. This realization has also led to the determination that a series of radio programs is a logical project to undertake in achieving this goal. The purpose of this project is to show how one series of programs was planned, and prepared for production over radio, to help meet this problem. This study, then, constitutes "A Report on the Planning, and Preparation for Production, of a Series of Thirteen 15-Minute Radio Programs in Parent Education."
