Abstract
Problem Significance: This project identifies depression in Latinx adults as a significant public health problem and focuses on three ZIP codes with the highest rates of depression within Sacramento County in the state of California.
Analysis and Objectives: This section of the project provides an analysis of the health problem, its contributing factors, and program objectives for the intervention.
Intervention (Solution) Proposal: To address the problem, the proposal uses a multilevel approach by incorporating activities at the individual, interpersonal, and community levels. Health promotion strategies include health education courses, a health communication social marketing campaign, and development of a community advisory board.
Recommendations and Conclusions: Although depression is preventable, disparities related to treatment among Latinx populations are prominent. Recommendations for successful implementation include a strong commitment to partnership, flexibility, and effective communication.
