Abstract
The purpose of this project was to make a guide for exercise prescription in newly diagnosed adults with multiple sclerosis (MS). This guide is in the form of a manual, which familiarizes exercise professionals with the characteristics of the MS disease, the limitations it may have on exercise plans, and the disease-modifying effects of the exercise on adults with MS. It also helps exercise professionals to design individualized exercise plans for adults minimally affected by MS, considering exercise barriers such as fatigue and heat sensitivity in this population. Findings related to previous research and studies of the disease-modifying effects of exercise in adults affected by MS, were collected and concluded in the form of an exercise prescription manual. This manual helps with prescribing efficient exercise plans for adults minimally affected by MS and can also serve as a source to raise awareness among clinicians and MS patients about the effects of exercise in early MS disease management.
