Abstract
The purpose of this project is to propose revised Learning Disabilities Policy and Procedures for the Placer County CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work Program. Updating Placer County's learning disabilities policy will ensure the county complies with state regulations and disability laws, as well as provide participants with learning disabilities the services they need to be successful in the county's welfare to work
programs and in becoming self-sufficient. In order to update the policy and procedure the author reviewed applicable civil rights law, policy guidance, welfare regulations, training materials and changes in the welfare to work program due to welfare reform. The author recommends that the Placer County CalWORKs Welfare-to-Work Program Manager approve the Proposal for Learning Disabilities Policy and Procedures, contained in Appendix A.
