Abstract
The study of leadership brings about many countering perspectives and is often misinterpreted. Within this discussion, the definition of leadership from an organizational perspective will be clarified and it will be determined whether enough effort on this topic is spent in the undergraduate degree within business administration. The source of the information for this project came from the two most respected collaborators in leadership studies in Gary Yukl and Richard Lepsinger's work in 'Flexible Leadership' and Kouzes and Posner's 'The Leadership Challenge'. Leadership cannot be defined using a simple definition, but requires a compilation of the reactions to different situations using an abundance of different techniques. Leadership is not only practiced by top executives, but by employees at all levels of an organization. The results conclude that there is not enough effort spent on educating future college graduates in business administration on what leadership means and will give the reader a better understanding on how that can be performed.
