Abstract
A patient with post-surgical partial medial meniscectomy was seen for physical therapy treatment for 8 sessions from June 16, 2014 to July 15, 2014 at an outpatient physical therapy clinic under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The patient was evaluated at the initial encounter with knee range of motion goniometry, functional step up/down from a 6 in step, functional squat, and pain on a scale of 0 to 10, and a plan of care was established. Main goals for the patient were to decrease pain, improve range of motion and be able to hike and hunt again. Main interventions used were task-specific training, manual therapy joint mobilizations, muscle strengthening, modalities and a home exercise program. The patient achieved his previously mentioned goals. The patient was discharged home with an independent home exercise program.
