Abstract
The aim of this research work was to tryout the applicability of a Product DataManagement (PDM) system as a hub tosupport systems engineering processes forembedded systems at a large automotivecompany.The PDM system was customized to workfor two demonstrator cases focusing onintegration and workflow. An applicationsolution was written using Visual C# toautomate the design task in conjunction withthe PDM system and simulation software.It is concluded that PDM systems are veryflexible and possible to customize to basicallyany need. However this does not mean that aPDM system is suitable for every company asa hub for systems engineering data.
