Abstract

Poetry
Standard and modern scansion models, e.g., Fussel and Steele, are closely examined and specific adjustments proposed. A new frame of reference by which stress is defined is introduced with other techniques to extend existing models of scansion. The result renders a simple, elegant, robust and natural method of scansion.
