Abstract
In this essay on the Playboy bunny costume, I began by analyzing visual images, followed by watching interviews and reading books about women who worked at the Playboy clubs. Examining photographs of these women and studying the Bunny Manual revealed that, despite the glamorous façade of the costume it often concealed, the costume significant pain and harassment. This project delves deeper into the experiences of these women, going beyond the superficial image to explore the realities they faced while wearing this iconic costume that is deeply embedded in American popular culture. In the future, I intend to conduct oral interviews with former bunny employees to further understand their experiences working for such an infamous brand.
