Abstract
In this lightning talk, we will briefly describe Sacramento State’s new IR/faculty profile system, Sac State Scholars. We are one of the first institutions in the country to build an IR on the new (still in development) Ex Libris Esploro platform, and the first M1 institution. Our campus previously had no faculty profiles; information about faculty research interests on the university’s website was spotty and minimal. The new platform will help students find advisors, help faculty find potential collaborators across institutional silos, and allow us to showcase our university’s output and activities to the larger world. It will also allow us – as a teaching-focused institution – to feature faculty’s pedagogical and curricular contributions (including OER) and advanced undergraduate work. I will demo some of the highlights of the platform and share ideas for achieving buy-in and engagement on campus.
