Abstract
Connecting textual linguistics (the study of cohesion) to theoretical linguistics (the study of syntax) provides educators and language learners with a deeper understanding of pronominalization errors. Examining the role of cohesion in relation to pronominalization provides insights into the psychology of interference (i.e., overlapping, contrasting rules between two languages within the mind of a single individuals). By exploring the errors that interlanguage interference creates, educators and students are equipped with knowledge to reduce pronominalization errors at the syntactic and morpho syntactic levels of analysis.
