Abstract
As professions with a majority woman-identified workforce, there is significant overlap in the gendered problems and subsequent initiatives regarding workplace incivility, bullying, and lateral violence between nursing and librarianship. A review of the published literature on the gendered implications for workplace interactions in libraries will be provided and interventions and successful solutions from nursing will be explored while highlighting areas for librarians to consider in adapting workable oppositions for the library environment. The information presented here will provide a pathway for libraries who are committed to this important work to make evidence based decisions to improve their work environment.
