Abstract

Graphic Design Semiotics

This paper argues that a deeper understanding of semiotics, the study of signs and their interactions, is essential for graphic design education. It highlights the increasing media literacy among the public and the need for designers to communicate their analytical capabilities effectively, as design transcends mere aesthetic choices. The work suggests integrating semiotic theories into curriculum to help students develop a robust foundation in visual communication, thereby enhancing their professional competency.
