Abstract
The introduction previews the main point of the book: human relations should be placed at the center of our thinking about education. Recent history of educational reforms and innovations reveal that modern societies may erroneously perceive education as one of many information-based industries. The book aims at critiquing the error and showing what relation-centered education may look like. Part One explains why we need a pedagogy of relation, and why we need it now. Part Two explains what educational relations are and what we know about them so far. Part Three turns to practical strategies of applying the pedagogy of relation. And Part Four outlines an agenda for the relational turn in the education system.
